Fragrance

 

You don't have to travel far to find an attractive subject for a photograph.  It can be something very simple on your own doorstep!  A pot of lavender in the garden inspired this photograph.

 

A small sprig cut from a nearby plant was placed in a small vase on the garden table.  A macro lens was used and with the camera placed at eye level on a tripod the photograph was taken without leaving my seat !  

 

It was quite breezy so I used a reasonably fast shutter speed to freeze any movement in the flower and a relatively small f-number to ensure that the garden fence in the background was thrown out of focus.
