Hundreds and Thousands

Lindisfarne, a tidal island off the north east coast of England, is famous for its medieval religious heritage and its picturesque 16th century castle.  Most photographers favour the view from the other side of the castle, but I was impressed by the view from the beach strewn with a multitude of rounded stones of differing sizes and colours.

A wide angle lens and an extremely low viewpoint were used to emphasise the foreground rocks while maintaining the relationship between the beach and the castle.
