Misty Mood

On an early January drive through the Trossachs we stopped by the side of Loch Lubnaig to give my wife a chance to try out her new camera.

It was a cold still day and while the surrounding hills and trees were reflected in some parts of the water other parts of the loch were still half covered in ice.

We took numerous pictures as conditions kept changing and in this picture I tried to capture the wintry atmosphere created as shafts of sunlight broke through the clouds and fleeting patches of mist formed over parts of the loch.
