Serenity

Warm, calming, simple, thought provoking - this image is a particular favourite of mine.

Abstract or impressionist in style, it has been created by manipulating a photograph I took recently of a peaceful deserted beach. The sun was going down and the ebb tide had exposed dark jagged rocks which were distracting to the otherwise tranquil scene. With the help of computer software the rocks were blurred and the shore lines smoothed out to create an abstract image while, hopefully, still retaining the impression of a sea shore and the original atmosphere.

My ultimate aim as a photographer is to produce images which I find pleasing.  I enjoy experimenting with tools and techniques which allow me to take my photography into another dimension although purists may say that this is not “real” photography.
